What is Keys to ubuntu?
Ubuntu
/o͝oˈbo͝on(t)o͞o/
an ancient African philosophy meaning ‘humanity for others; the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.’ a word used to describe someone who is generous, hospitable, friendly, caring and compassionate, to name a few.
-
The word Ubuntu was coined as a world view or philosophy in the 1990s during a time when South Africa was working to abolish a system of institutionalized racial segregation and discrimination called apartheid. Ubuntu was used to remind society that we are all connected, that we must be and give to humanity to receive it and to see growth and change in the world and especially in our communities.
